About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Assembler Team Lead to join our Seal Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on 1st shift. The Team Lead will be responsible for, but are not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas: pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS. Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or fabrication
  • 1+ year of formal or informal leadership experience
  • 1+ years of experience with production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassembly and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools
  • 1+ years of experience with Velocity and additional 787 production applications
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Build effective resource plans
  • Identifies and communicates risks to the First Line Leader
  • Updates and communicates BPS metrics
  • Identify KPI improvement actions
  • Assigns daily work
  • Leads team in daily safety check-in
  • Monitors and reports daily progress to plan
  • Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk
  • Documents and communications shift turnover
  • Establishes overtime requirements and staffing
  • Monitor and control of 5S
  • Utilizes Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinates with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues
  • Create standardized work instructions
  • Support teammates to improve their job performance, including identifying training
  • Responsible for BPS process improvements, will lead Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks
  • Exhibits Boeing Behaviors
  • Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job
