Coyle Outside is a 'Mobile' Provider for Outdoor School programs in the state of Oregon. These 3–5-day programs involve providing outdoor experiential education to public school students throughout Oregon. The position is for individuals who are flexible, internally motivated, have a strong work ethic, and are available for seasonal work. Candidates should be interested in approaching work with youth through Character Development, able to work well in a team environment, and support larger systems while performing creatively at individual assignments. The role is for those oriented toward service, making a difference, commitment, and a capacity to make sacrifices for a greater cause. The Fall 2026 programs are predominantly non-residential, with typical hours from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Team members commute to or drive to and camp at program sites the day prior to program start to scout, prep, and set up lodging/camp with the ODS team. Programming involves inquiry-based teaching of specialized outdoor skills such as Chemistry thru Fire Building, Habitat thru Shelter Building, Botany/Flora thru Foraging, Geography thru Navigation/Orienteering, Fauna thru Tracking, Woody Plants thru Wood craft, Fishing, Archery, Physics thru Traps, and Naturalist Study through Observation/Interpretation. Other duties include physical set up and break down of lesson sites, pre-briefing and de-briefing, coordination and support of other assignments, and logistics support. This seasonal position can potentially be supplemented with full-time work in Fall, Spring, and Summer. Training occurs in Corvallis prior to each season.
