About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the SPMA1P93 course, focusing on Diversity and Inclusion in Sport Management. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Requirements
- At least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Sport Management, or equivalent
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
- Proven track record of working effectively with competent and quick marking turnaround
Nice To Haves
- MA or higher will be given preference
- Preferable to have taken the course with an 80% grade
