Teaching Assistant SPMA 1P94 Fall D2-3
About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the SPMA 1P94 course for the Fall D2-3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) and involves responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator. Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties align with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, including scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation, consultation, marking, proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.
Requirements
- At least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Sport Management, or equivalent
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
Nice To Haves
- MA or higher will be given preference
- Preferable to have taken the course with an 80% grade
- Proven track record of working effectively with competent and quick marking turnaround
