Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree in Political Science with emphasis on International Relations.
  • Must have successfully completed POLI 3P28 (or equivalent) and have the ability to clearly articulate the basic theoretical concepts.
  • Must have strong essay writing skills.
  • Must have good organizational skills and be able to observe timelines requested by the Instructor.
  • Must have prior documented experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar leadership capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating small group discussions based on assigned materials that examine factors contributing to foreign policy formulation in Canada.
  • Grading of assignments and exams.
  • Providing thoughtful and constructive feedback with the aim of enriching students' academic experiences in the discipline.
  • Maintaining accurate records of individual student performance.
  • Scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required).
