About The Position

The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) invites applications for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the summer 2026 term of the 2025-26 session. This position has the option to work remotely and may be eligible for hybrid work under the terms of USask's Alternative Workspace Guidelines. The TA will report formally to the JSGS Director of Administration, and their work will be directed and supervised by the course instructor, Dr. Kurtis Boyer. The course is JSGS 896 Indigenous Nation Building in Canada, delivered online asynchronously.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in political science, public administration, public policy, or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be registered in a graduate program at the University of Saskatchewan and be in good standing with the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • Priority will be given to students enrolled in the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Preparing for and attending lectures
  • Assisting with grading work
  • Helping to maintain the class and/or online discussion forums (as applicable)
  • Student consultation and holding office hours
  • Conferring with and taking direction from the instructor
  • Providing assistance with other course matters as assigned by the instructor
