About The Position

The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) is recruiting a Graduate Research Assistant to work with and report to Dr. Michelle Bussiere-Prytula, Associate Professor at JSGS. The typical duties of the Research Assistant will support the development of a qualitative policy-in-practice study examining the experiences of queer teachers in the profession, funded by the McDowell Foundation for Research into Teaching.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree or equivalent, or enrolment in a master’s degree in a public policy-relevant discipline (i.e., political science, sociology, economics, education, law, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and excel in repetitive tasks
  • Proven capacity to work independently, plan effectively, adhere to timelines, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Applicants currently registered in a research-oriented graduate program at the University of Saskatchewan and particularly in the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and verifying generated transcripts for accuracy
  • De-identifying transcripts
  • Assisting in coordinating research team meetings
  • Assisting in data coding
  • Assisting with writing tasks as appropriate, including drafting summaries and supporting research documentation
  • Other related duties as they arise
