About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the COSC 4P01 Software Engineering I course for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves assisting with scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $22.07 per hour and a graduate rate of $34.73 per hour (effective September 1, 2024). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. Requirements
- Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- At least third- or fourth-year students currently enrolled in Computer Science with a major average of 75%, or who have completed a Computer Science degree or equivalent
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
