About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in COSC 3P71 Artificial Intelligence for the Fall D2 term. Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). In cases where additional duties are required, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time, such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.

Requirements

• Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
• At least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in Computer Science, or who have completed a Computer Science degree or equivalent
• Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
• Punctual in attending classes
• Able to meet appropriate deadlines
• Excellent in Programming languages such as Java and Python
