About The Position

Falmouth Public Schools is seeking a substitute Teaching Assistant for the Connect program at Mullen-Hall School for the 2026–2027 school year. The assignment is for 8–12 weeks and is 30 hours per week, 10 months per year. The assistant supports students with special needs and teachers in classrooms, working with students individually or in small groups as assigned. The role includes training in behavioral techniques and participation in special education in-service sessions. Salary is in accordance with FPS Substitute Rates.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Ability and desire to work with children with special needs.
• Ability to take direction from and work under the supervision of one or more teachers.

Nice To Haves

• Safety Care training, or willingness to train.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in small groups and/or one-to-one as assigned by the teacher.
• Be willing to train in specific behavioral techniques.
• Attend in-service training sessions pertaining to special education.
• Work with and support students and teachers in classrooms.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the classroom teacher and/or the Principal/Special Education Building Administrator.
