About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in COMM 3P22 for the Fall D2 term. Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Requirements
- An Honours BA in Communication Studies, or an equivalent program, is required.
- Candidates must have completed the course in question, or a university-level equivalent, with a minimum final grade of 75%.
- If seeking consideration for an equivalency, the candidate must identify the course and supply two documents: (1) a copy of the course outline and (2) the candidate's transcript showing the course and grade. Failure to provide one or both documents will result in an incomplete application.
- Candidates must supply evidence of strong writing skills (i.e., university-level papers, relevant awards, or publications).
- Candidates must have strong interpersonal and group communication skills.
- Candidates must demonstrate professionalism when supporting course content, leading seminars, and meeting deadlines.
