About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant position in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) for the ASTR 1P01 Fall D2 course. Compensation for Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions is based on the employee's qualifications. Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $22.07 per hour (effective September 1, 2024). Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $34.73 per hour (effective September 1, 2024). Additional duties required of a Teaching Assistant will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The nominal workload for this position is approximately 30 hours per semester. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.

Requirements

• A completed Honours degree in Physics, Astronomy, or a related discipline.

Nice To Haves

• Previous teaching experience is an asset.
• Having had successfully taken the course, or an equivalent, is also an asset.
