About The Position
The Center for Disability Services is seeking Teaching Assistants to support its programs for individuals with disabilities. Teaching Assistants work with teachers to address students’ needs as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must obtain New York State Teaching Assistant Certification.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- College credits preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher with activities designed to address student needs as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Prepare classroom materials.
- Provide direct instruction to students.
- Provide custodial care of students.
