Teaching Assistant COMM 3P15 Winter D3
About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for COMM 3P15: Media Analysis for the Winter D3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. Compensation will be based on the employee's qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour, effective September 1, 2026. Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.
Requirements
- An Honours BA in Communication Studies, or an equivalent program, is required.
- Candidates must have completed the course in question, or a university-level equivalent, with a minimum final grade of 75%.
- If seeking consideration for an equivalency, the candidate must identify the course and supply two documents: (1) a copy of the course outline and (2) the candidate's transcript showing the course and grade. Failure to provide one or both documents will result in an incomplete application.
- Candidates must supply evidence of strong writing skills (i.e., university-level papers, relevant awards, or publications).
- Candidates must have strong interpersonal and group communication skills.
- Candidates must demonstrate professionalism when supporting course content, leading seminars, and meeting deadlines.
