About The Position

The William Dillard Department of Accounting in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas seeks applications from interested candidates to fill a non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor position effective August 16, 2027. A Teaching Assistant Professor is expected to teach eight courses per year with a mix of face-to-face and online courses, as needed. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience; benefits are competitive. Regular on-campus availability, in-person teaching, and active contribution to the life of the department, including exhibiting respect and cooperation in shared academic and administrative tasks are essential duties.

Requirements

  • Hold a Ph.D. with an emphasis in accounting from a nationally or internationally accredited university.
  • Evidence of high-quality teaching in undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses.
  • Evidence or potential to provide both face-to-face and online undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses.
  • Must meet standards to be classified as Scholarly Academic under AACSB (this could include recent publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or engagement in professional practice through outreach, consulting, or other activities consistent with AACSB standards.).
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching courses focused on individual and/or corporate taxation.
  • Evidence or potential to publish in peer-reviewed accounting journals with a primary research emphasis in tax accounting.
