About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the course ECH1100A, Introduction to the Study of Conflicts and Human Rights, during the Fall 2026 semester. The position is under the CUPE collective agreement. The TA will be responsible for correcting papers and exams, facilitating group discussions, scheduling office hours, proctoring exams, and meeting with the professor. The expected enrollment for the course is 420 students. The work start date is September 09, 2026, and the work end date is December 31, 2026, with a total of 65 work hours. The hourly rate depends on student status: undergraduate students will be paid $31.89/hour, and graduate students will be paid $50.25/hour (2024-2025 rates). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. The language of work is English. Professors often expect TAs to attend their classes, so applicants should check the course timetable to avoid conflicts.
