About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor for the Software Requirements Analysis course (SEG3101A, Section A) during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves teaching and supervising weekly labs and tutorials, preparing course materials, demonstrating techniques and tools related to requirements capture, analysis, and management, and assisting students with lecture material. The position also includes solving and grading assignments, keeping mark records, holding office hours, answering student emails, and proctoring exams. The teaching method will be delivered in person. The number of positions and hours offered are subject to final enrollment in the course.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of the course material (requirements description notations and languages including UML, URN, feature models; specification, analysis and requirements management; and interviews, design thinking, and validation sessions).
  • Ability to supervise teams for requirements gathering exercises.
  • Enough knowledge and practical experience with Helix ALM, UML tools, BPMN Sketch Miner, and survey/prioritization tools to teach.
  • Attend a TA workshop if necessary.
  • Must be ready for an interview if considered for this position.
  • If the responsibilities include DGD and/or TUT and/or LAB supervision or teaching, the applicant must be available for all of these.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed this course or its equivalent and its prerequisite(s) with a mark of A or better.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and supervise weekly labs and tutorials.
  • Participate in preparing lab, project, and tutorial materials.
  • Demonstrate techniques and tools related to requirements capture, documentation, analysis, and management.
  • Discuss in labs and tutorials selected points from lecture material, occasionally extending this material.
  • Solve assignments in advance, and grade them quickly.
  • Assist with keeping mark records.
  • Have weekly office hours and answer e-mail from students.
  • Proctor exams.
