About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Communication Systems course (ELG4176A, Section A) during the Fall 2026 semester. The TA will be responsible for grading assignments, supervising laboratory experiments, grading lab reports, proctoring the midterm test, and being available for student consultation, potentially including leading tutorial sessions. The role requires solid prior knowledge of modulation, random processes, and noise performance analysis for analogue and digital communications. The teaching method will be delivered in person, and the TA must be available to physically come to the lab sessions. The number of positions and hours offered are subject to final enrollment in the course.

Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates who have completed this course or its equivalent and its prerequisite(s) with a mark of A or better.
Attend a TA workshop if necessary.
Must be ready for an interview if considered for this position.
If the responsibilities include DGD and/or TUT and/or LAB supervision or teaching, the applicant must be available for all of these.
Solid prior knowledge of the fundamental aspects of modulation, random processes and noise performance analysis for analogue and (especially) digital communications.
TA must be available to physically come in person for the lab session.

Responsibilities

Grading assignments, possibly including preparing some model solutions.
Supervision of laboratory experiments, grading student lab preparation and performance, and marking laboratory reports.
