About The Position

This posting is for a new position as a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) for the Introduction to Linear Algebra course (MAT-1741, Section C) during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves contact with students for 50 hours. The position is classified under CUPE and is for a specific course. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. Undergraduate students will be paid at a lower rate, while graduate students will receive a higher rate. These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity applied after ratification. Requirements

  • Student with a minimum of 30 credits in mathematics & statistics.
  • Good understanding of the subject matter.
  • Completion of all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.

  • Priority will be given to graduate students in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Contact with students for 50 hours.
  • Conducting DGD C02 sessions on Mondays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:50 p.m.
  • Conducting DGD C03 sessions on Mondays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.
