About The Position
This posting is for a new position as a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor for the SDS 3786 Data Science Lab course in the Faculty of Engineering for the Fall 2026 semester. The course focuses on data management and analysis, including data manipulation, cleaning, exploratory analysis, visualization, regression and classification methods, and report writing. The role involves assisting students with their labs and projects, and marking assignments. The number of positions and hours offered are subject to final course enrollment.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of data science topics (e.g. data cleaning, descriptive and predictive analysis, visualization)
- Good knowledge of Python, particularly used for data science applications
- Experience working with Jupyter Notebooks
Responsibilities
- Help students in accomplishing their Python labs + project
- Mark labs, projects and other assignments
