About The Position

The University of Saskatchewan is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Chemical & Biological Engineering department for the 2026-2027 Regular Session. This role involves supporting course instruction through various duties, including preparing and delivering lectures, marking assignments, student consulting, invigilating exams, holding office hours, setting up experiments, and supervising field trips. The work location is the College of Engineering, and the position reports to the respective course instructor. The required hours are between 1 to 12 hours per week, depending on the course assignment. The employment duration is from September 1 to December 31.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD student in good standing actively enrolled in the College of Engineering
  • Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Strong English language, oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with specific equipment used in laboratory (if applicable)
  • Completion of the University of Saskatchewan Laboratory Safety and WHMIS training courses
  • Must be a current, registered student to be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably in Chemical and/or Biological Engineering
  • Prior experience as an instructor or teaching assistant at the University of Saskatchewan
  • Coursework, research, or industrial experience that is relevant to a specific class or laboratory
