About The Position

The Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering, in the College of Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU), invites applications for the position of part-time Lecturer (10 hours/week) in the area of chemical process safety. Appointment for this position will begin August 16, 2026. The initial length of the appointment will be 4.5 months (until December 31, 2026). The candidate is expected to have a PhD in chemical engineering and at least 10 years of industrial experience in chemical process engineering. Candidates should have strong communication skills (both oral and written) and share our commitment to outstanding chemical engineering education.

Requirements

• PhD in Chemical Engineering
• 10 years of industrial experience in process engineering
• 2 years of experience teaching chemical engineering at a university as lead instructor
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
