About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant for the course ANAT 261 - Intro to Dynamic Histology at McGill University. The TA will supervise laboratory sessions, coordinate labs, mark assignments and exams, and assist with the preparation of exam questions. The role also involves attending lectures, answering student questions, and organizing tutorials and review sessions.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in biological sciences (i.e., Biology, Biochemistry, Anatomy and Cell biology, Physiology).
  • Experience as a TA in Histology, Anatomy & Cell Biology.
  • Ability to coordinate labs, supervise undergraduate students, marking, exams and tutorials.
  • Effective communication skills in English (spoken and written) are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise 1.5 of the 3, 2-hour labs on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for coordination of labs, marking, mid-term exam, grade assignments and final exam.
  • Attend all lectures.
  • Answer student questions.
  • Organize tutorials and review sessions with the students.
  • Help Professor with the preparation and proof-reading of exam questions.
