About The Position

Kids N Us is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child enrolled in its care. The role provides overall supervision and performs daily classroom functions for a group of children, while creating a safe, nurturing environment for learning and play. The employer states that no experience is needed and that it is willing to train the right person, although the listed qualifications specify two years of related experience and/or training. This is a full-time, in-person position with a Monday-to-Friday schedule from 9 am to 6 pm. Pay is $19–$22.50 per hour. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a minimum age of 18, and the listed health, safety, and childcare credentials.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Two years of related experience and/or training, as listed under Education/Experience.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid TB skin test.
Valid proof of MMR.
Valid proof of COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption.
Valid food handlers permit.
Valid first aid and CPR card.
Child Care Basics (30-hour course) Initial Certificate or equivalent, obtained within the past five years.
Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Create a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and play.
Provide warmth, patience, and understanding in the classroom.
Supervise a group of children and manage daily classroom functions.
Cultivate positive relationships with children, families, teachers, and staff.
Implement the school curriculum and assess students’ developmental needs.
Plan and implement activities that promote children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
