About The Position

Valley View's Youth Recovery Center is seeking a Teacher to provide clients the opportunity to continue their individual education progress while in treatment. The ideal candidate must be capable of utilizing a variety of education and treatment approaches to work with adolescents. This role also involves assessing the level of risk and making appropriate clinical judgments for the resolution of client emergencies, ensuring a safe outcome.

Requirements

Masters level degree
Current Colorado teaching certificate
Special Education Endorsement
BLS through the American Heart Association
Able to assess level of risk and make appropriate clinical judgment for resolution of client emergencies, resulting in a safe outcome.
A working knowledge of individual, group, family and crisis treatment approaches and their application to clients with emotional, behavioral, and/or substance abuse problems.
Five years successful classroom teaching experience required.

Nice To Haves

Certification as a Certified Addiction Counselor is preferred or actively working towards obtaining within an agreed time frame
Group counseling experience preferred.
