About The Position

The BUSY School is seeking a passionate educator for a full-time, permanent Teacher position at its Cleveland Campus. This role is ideal for both experienced and early-career teachers who can teach Essential English, Essential Mathematics, and Social Studies. The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland and New Zealand, offering an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. The program includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience, and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, aiming to re-engage students, help them gain a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), and prepare them for employment or further training.

Requirements

• A relevant teaching qualification.
• Full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a Teacher in Queensland.
• Ability to work within the curriculum of secondary education.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to teach Essential English.
• Ability to teach Essential Mathematics.
• Ability to teach Social Studies.

Responsibilities

• Teach one or more of the following subjects: Essential English, Essential Mathematics, and Social Studies.
• Provide a supportive and safe learning environment for young people.
• Support students to gain employability and transferability skills.
• Help students increase their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration, and employment outcomes.
• Re-engage students to learn.
• Ensure students remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
• Prepare students for employment or further training outcomes upon graduation.
