About The Position

La Clinica de Familia (LCDF) is a FQHC with several locations in Southern New Mexico. For over 40 years, La Clinica has provided services to the residents of Southern New Mexico. Our mission statement definitely speaks to what La Clinica de Familia stands for, which is to empower and enrich families, individuals, and communities by providing quality medical, dental, behavioral health and educational service for people of all cultures. This position is responsible for planning, implementing and supervising developmental activities for infants and young children while also ensuring that the classroom environment is appropriate and activities are respectful, safe, nurturing, age appropriate and culturally sensitive for the children and their families. Conducts screenings and assessments, home visits / parent conferences, and serves as an educational and informational resource for families and staff.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Infant / Toddler CDA
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid Driver’s License and current automobile insurance
  • Basic understanding of computers including MS Windows and WORD.
  • Knowledge/competency in Infant & toddler development and behavior
  • Knowledge/competency in Infant/toddler & family-centered practice
  • Knowledge/competency in Relationship-based practice
  • Knowledge/competency in Pregnancy & early parenthood
  • Knowledge/competency in Family relationships and dynamics
  • Knowledge/competency in Attachment, separation and loss
  • Knowledge/competency in Disorders of infancy/early childhood
  • Knowledge/competency in Cultural competence
  • Knowledge/competency in Observation and listening
  • Knowledge/competency in Screening and assessment
  • Knowledge/competency in Responding with empathy
  • Knowledge/competency in Advocacy
  • Knowledge/competency in Life skills
  • Knowledge/competency in Safety of the home or classroom environment

Nice To Haves

  • AA or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development, or related field

Responsibilities
