The Teacher will provide an educational atmosphere in which students will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth and maturation in accordance with District philosophy, goals and objectives. This role involves establishing short and long-range goals, planning and preparing lessons, identifying and modifying instructional materials, maintaining a positive and safe learning environment, managing time and resources effectively, instructing and supervising volunteers and aides, maintaining record-keeping procedures, using behavior management techniques, assisting in the enforcement of school rules, participating in the development and implementation of IEPs, EP’s & 504 Plans, developing assessment strategies, interpreting data, establishing appropriate testing environments, demonstrating subject matter knowledge, applying learning principles, using a multimedia approach, enhancing critical thinking skills, providing instructional modifications, ensuring challenging and relevant student work, recognizing and acting on indicators of student distress or abuse, providing instruction on safety procedures, using appropriate materials and technology, fostering a positive learning environment, communicating effectively, collaborating with professionals and parents, assisting others in skill acquisition, engaging in personal growth, conducting self-assessments for professional development, modeling professional conduct, performing all professional responsibilities, preparing reports, supporting school improvement initiatives, ensuring continuous student growth, and performing other incidental tasks.
