About The Position

The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland and New Zealand, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. The program includes The BUSY School Online (TBSO) offering flexible access to the program for all students across Queensland. Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment by offering an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience, and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. The team supports students to gain employability and transferability skills to increase their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration, and employment outcomes. The focus is on re-engaging students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), and gain employment or further training outcomes upon graduation from Year 12. This is an Expression of Interest for teaching roles that may become available at the Cleveland Campus in 2027, ideal for experienced and early career teachers.

Requirements

A relevant teaching qualification.
Full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a Teacher in Queensland.
Ability to work within the curriculum of secondary education.
Passionate about helping young people succeed.
Ability to make a genuine difference in student engagement, wellbeing, and educational outcomes.
Satisfactory employment screening including criminal history and relevant working with children checks.

Nice To Haves

Experienced or early career teachers.
Ability to teach one or more of the following subjects: Essential English, Essential Mathematics and Social Studies.
