About The Position
This is a substitute teaching position that becomes a 100% effective term position from October 24th, 2026, to April 26th, 2027. The role involves providing quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, implementing strategies to promote student learning, demonstrating best practices in assessment, attending meetings and professional development, and maintaining records in online systems.
Requirements
- Math 12; Service Trades 10; Technology Education 9; Math Essentials 10,11,12; Food Preparation Service 10; Food Technology 10
- Provide 3 professional/supervisory, work-related references, their email addresses and their phone numbers in your SuccessFactors application.
- References must be able to speak to an applicant’s teaching abilities.
- AVRCE will require referees to provide reference checks prior to noon on June 26.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
- Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting student learning based on each student’s prior knowledge, skills, and learning needs
- Demonstrate best practices in assessment to determine next steps
- Attend and actively engage in meetings and ongoing professional development
- Maintain and submit all records in online systems and other communication avenues
