About The Position

The Ohio School for the Deaf (OSD) is seeking passionate and dedicated teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. OSD serves a diverse population of deaf/hard of hearing students, families, and communities by educating students in a language-rich environment and empowering each individual to be a contributing member of society. The school's goals include improving bilingual literacy and language skills, expanding student portfolios and postsecondary pathways, enhancing external communication and collaboration, improving mental health and social-emotional supports, and creating a student support team to evaluate current and future education issues. OSD uses Expanded Common Core in its classrooms and offers students opportunities to learn and grow socially and emotionally in a safe environment through extracurricular activities. This posting serves as notice for the 2026-2027 school year and includes positions for Literacy Specialist and Multiple Disabilities.

Requirements

Must maintain valid Ohio teaching licensure for grade level, subject area or special class assignment.
Demonstrate Advanced level on the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) within one year of hire.
Intermediate level on the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) minimum requirement at hire.

Nice To Haves

Applicants will be considered if qualifications indicate a path to licensure for any of the above licenses.
