About The Position

St. Louis Catholic Academy seeks a caring, dedicated first grade teacher who believes in every child’s ability to learn and grow. The teacher will create a welcoming, structured classroom grounded in the school’s Catholic mission and build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education and appropriate Missouri teaching certification, or eligibility for certification.
• Knowledge of early literacy, elementary mathematics, and child development.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to Catholic education and serving students from diverse backgrounds.

• Early elementary teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards, with a strong foundation in literacy and mathematics.
• Use explicit instruction, small groups, and differentiated support to meet students’ learning needs.
• Use assessment results to monitor progress and guide instruction.
• Establish consistent routines and positive classroom expectations that support learning, responsibility, and belonging.
• Integrate Catholic faith and Gospel values into daily classroom life.
• Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with colleagues to support student success.
