About The Position

Fortis Academy, located in Ypsilanti, MI, is seeking a Ready to Place Teacher (RPT) to proactively hire talented teachers for the upcoming school year before classroom openings become available. As the school maps out the classroom schedule, RPTs will be assigned a specific classroom and will work with school leadership and other teachers in the same grade level to prepare for the school year. This role is an excellent opportunity to bring your passion for teaching to Fortis Academy, which serves students K-8 and has outperformed local districts academically for the past 14 years. Requirements

• Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements. NHA will support you through your alternative certification journey.

Responsibilities

• Prepare to assume responsibility of a classroom teacher when a vacancy becomes available.
• Create a classroom environment that is engaging and conducive to learning.
• Leverage a curriculum proven to drive the academic success of students. A set of curricular resources are there for you to take and implement in your classroom based on the needs of students.
• Analyze and use student data to inform your teaching.
• Participate collaboratively and professionally with fellow teachers and support staff to meet the goals and individual needs of each student.
