About The Position

Discovery Learning Center (DLC) at Parc Center for Disabilities is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Classroom Teacher for older two year and three years olds who is passionate about early childhood education and inclusion. The role involves nurturing each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in a warm, inclusive preschool setting. The center serves children ages 2 months to 5 years, including children with diverse abilities.

Requirements

  • CDA (Child Development Associate) or formal early childhood education
  • 45 clock hours, or will have within 30 days
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children
  • Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision)
  • Level II Background Check required
  • Screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse

Responsibilities

  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued
  • Planning and leading engaging lessons using the Creative Curriculum, including music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning
  • Supporting children with diverse needs using positive behavior support strategies
  • Tracking developmental progress using Teaching Strategies Gold
  • Building strong partnerships with families through open communication and conferences
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records to support individualized learning
  • Collaborating with fellow teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a mission-driven team
  • Following Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements
