About The Position

The Teacher creates a flexible elementary school program and a classroom environment that supports learning and personal growth. The role establishes effective rapport with pupils, motivates them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge in accordance with their abilities, and builds good relationships with parents and staff members. The position teaches the assigned academic area using the course of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate learning activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
Arizona Elementary Teacher certification.
Provisional SEI, full Bilingual, or ESL endorsement.

Responsibilities

Teach the assigned academic area using the Governing Board-adopted course of study and appropriate learning activities.
Instruct pupils in subject matter specified by state law and school district administrative regulations and procedures.
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
Provide individualized and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to each pupil’s needs.
Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, maintain appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupils’ progress and interpret the school program.
Identify pupil needs and work with other professional staff to assess and help pupils address health, attitude, and learning problems.
Create an effective learning environment using functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
Maintain professional competence through district-provided or self-selected professional development activities.
Select and requisition instructional aids and materials and maintain required inventory records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
