About The Position

ACCEL Schools is hiring a 5th Grade Teacher at West Park Bilingual Academy in Cleveland, Ohio. The role focuses on providing a superior education, bringing curriculum to life, and creating a positive classroom environment that supports student learning and social-emotional development. West Park Bilingual Academy serves families throughout West Cleveland with a college-preparatory program emphasizing hands-on, project-based learning and bilingual instruction. Requirements

Active, current State of Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment involving frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to properly manage confidential information.
Ability to supervise students of various ages in different school settings, including playgrounds and cafeterias.
Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
Experience working within an urban environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as needed during the school year.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
Use research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
Manage student behavior in the classroom.
Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in.
Use school-approved curricula that reflect students’ diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
Communicate and meet with families about their child’s academic and social-emotional growth.
Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
Participate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities as needed.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
