About The Position

The Academic Teacher instructs students in a regular classroom setting in a designated subject area. The teacher promotes a positive and desirable classroom atmosphere to support student motivation and maintains classroom discipline to maximize learning. The role also involves establishing rapport with students and maintaining student personnel folders and attendance records.

This position is with Eckerd Connects’ CLS Jacksonville Job Corps program in Jacksonville, Florida. Job Corps is a nationwide residential career-training program that helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete high school, prepare for careers, and obtain employment. The position requires Florida teaching certification. Applicants must pass a drug screen and nationwide criminal background check; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is preferred.

The stated salary range is $50,000–$57,000. Eckerd Connects is a drug-free workplace and uses E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility.

Requirements

• Certified to teach in the state of Florida.
• Pass a drug screen in compliance with the Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Successfully complete a nationwide criminal background check; employment is contingent on passing it.
