About The Position

Cadence Academy Preschool is seeking a Preschool Teacher to join its teaching team. The teacher will help create a positive learning environment for children, support their development through an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum, and communicate important daily milestones to parents. The role involves observing children’s interests, promoting safe and enriching play, modeling age-appropriate social behavior, and helping plan a balanced daily schedule. The position is located in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must meet all state preschool teacher requirements.
• High level of flexibility and willingness to work within business hours.

Nice To Haves

• Child Development Associate (CDA) or a college degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the teaching team to encourage a positive learning environment for all children in the center.
• Document and share important milestones in each child’s day with parents.
• Collaborate with preschool teachers and leaders to implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Respect and observe children’s interests, intervene when needed to maintain safety, and enhance play with language, toys, and activities.
• Encourage and model developmentally appropriate social behavior and expectations.
• Contribute ideas to a daily schedule balancing quiet and active, indoor and outdoor, and fine- and gross-motor activities.
