Under general direction of the building administrator, is responsible for planning, providing, and evaluating varied learning experiences of students in cooperation with other staff members, parents, and the public. Makes long and short-range plans for each subject area of instruction. Demonstrates subject mastery. Provides a classroom climate which is based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness and consistency. Demonstrates competency in instructional skills. Evaluates in terms of planned goals and revises instruction as a result of the evaluation. Informs pupils of their progress in terms of the objectives set for the lesson or course of study. Interacts positively with students, professional associates, and patrons of the school district. Meets classes, renders accurate reports, performs assigned duties punctually. Adjusts to varied situations, demands, and new instructional concepts. Fulfills job-related non-teaching duties. Directs student teachers, paraeducators, pupil tutors, Option C students, methods class students, and parent volunteers when such personnel are accepted to enhance the instructional program. Handles student discipline and attendant problems.
