About The Position

Paterson Public Schools is seeking a Teacher for Grades 6–8 Language Arts. The role requires a New Jersey instructional certificate with a Middle School ELA in Grades 5–8 endorsement or a K–12 English endorsement. The teacher will need knowledge of state standards and assessments, current teaching methods, differentiated instruction, English language arts content, applicable education laws, and interactive instructional software. Requirements

• New Jersey teacher instructional certificate with a Middle School ELA in Grades 5–8 endorsement or a K–12 English endorsement.
• Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, including differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
• Knowledge of English grammar, word usage, word denotations and connotations, spelling, literature, and other content areas taught.
• Computer literacy and ability to use interactive computer instructional software.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation regarding performance and professional growth.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, administrators, and the community.
