About The Position

Community Action Wayne/Medina (CAW/M) is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Teacher to join their team at Creative Kids in Medina, Ohio. This is a Part-Year, Full-Time, Non-Exempt position working Monday-Thursday for 34 hours per week, approximately 44 weeks per year. The Teacher will work as part of a collaborative classroom team to create a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment for young children, supporting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in early childhood education or a related childcare setting.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet agency insurability requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with children, families, coworkers, and others from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively under pressure, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to use online databases and technology.
  • Ability to actively engage with young children throughout the day, including standing, bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing developmentally appropriate classroom plans that meet the individual needs of children.
  • Support curriculum and learning experiences that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Help create engaging learning environments based on early childhood education best practices.
  • Incorporate Conscious Discipline® techniques into daily classroom schedules and routines.
  • Plan and implement literacy experiences for children and their families.
  • Assist with field trips, end-of-year activities, kindergarten transition activities, and other special events.
  • Assist with required screenings and assessments for enrolled children within established timeframes.
  • Maintain written observations, portfolios, work samples, individual child goals, and other required documentation.
  • Conduct daily health checks and make referrals as needed.
  • Help maintain a safe, healthy, and effective classroom environment that supports children's well-being.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable program, licensing, health, and safety requirements.
  • Assist with Parent Child Registration Visits and Education Home Visits in collaboration with the program team.
  • Communicate with families and program staff regarding children's screenings, assessments, goals, and referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with families and coworkers to support children's development and success.
  • Assist in maintaining complete and accurate child files.
  • Participate as an active member of the classroom and program team.
