About The Position

GradePower Learning Largo is seeking a part-time teacher-tutor passionate about helping students succeed in various subjects. This role involves tutoring core subjects and/or SAT/ACT prep in a learning center environment. The position offers flexible hours, with limited daily planning responsibility as learning plans are pre-planned and administration communicates with parents. Applicants will receive full training in the company's proprietary methods. The role emphasizes building student confidence and self-esteem by helping them overcome academic challenges.

Requirements

• Upper division math and science expertise (for SAT/ACT prep)
• Scored well on the SAT/ACT (for SAT/ACT prep)
• Reliability is a must
• Must be able to commute to the Largo location
• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to six students at a time

Nice To Haves

• Passion for puns, equations, or literature
• Teaching certification
• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a first to 12th grade (or equivalent) level
• SAT/ACT tutoring experience

Responsibilities

• Teaching 3-6 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching is in-person
• Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
