About The Position

The Teacher-Tutor will work with small groups of identified children to improve their skills and provide direct instruction and strategies for intervention. This role may be assigned to work in a lab, in-classroom setting, or a separate classroom location. The Teacher-Tutor will work cooperatively with teachers and site support staff, performing directed teaching, diagnosing and planning, and intervention. Flexibility and the ability to work independently are essential. The position requires attending professional development as assigned and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • California teaching credential authorizing service in area of assignment
  • Ability to work with students who are experiencing difficulty in reading, ELA or math.

  • Copies of required certificates, transcripts or diplomas may be submitted with application.
  • Proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license (for some positions)
  • Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice
  • Verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter
  • Complete and accurate list of every school district, county office of education, charter school, and/or state school (Local Educational Agencies (LEA)) where the applicant has previously worked, regardless of the length of service, including full-time, part-time and substitute employment.
