About The Position

Apple Montessori Schools is seeking a Teacher for its Toddler and Preschool program in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. The school describes its modern Montessori approach as offering enrichment beyond traditional education and emphasizes supporting children's development and preparing them for their futures. The Teacher works as part of a team and plans and delivers instruction and activities to support children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs. The role includes assessing and documenting student progress, supervising a teacher assistant, communicating with parents, and participating in school events, staff meetings, and curriculum meetings. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Ability to communicate with parents effectively and professionally.
• Experience with lesson planning and development.
• Ability to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.

Nice To Haves

• Elementary Education degree preferred.
• Montessori experience preferred.
• NAMC preferred, or willingness to obtain it within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Formalize weekly lesson plans for the upcoming instructional period.
• Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and make effective decisions concerning instructional goals.
• Determine student performance using informal and formal assessments and observations.
• Plan and implement activities that meet children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
• Use a variety of instructional materials and methods, including contextual and supplemental materials, teacher-constructed resources, teaching bulletin boards, audio-visual aids, hands-on activities, discovery-based learning, and activity-based learning.
• Maintain accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for assigned students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant in the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss children's progress.
• Attend Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days, weekly staff meetings, and weekly teacher curriculum meetings.
