About The Position

LICENSED VACANCY Position is for Summer 2026 POSITION: Teacher, Summer School (3 vacancies) LOCATION: Adventure Elementary PAY RANGE: $39.48 per hour Payment will be based on total hours worked (up to a total of 65 hours, 7:50-1:50 each day and 5 hours of additional paid planning) CALENDAR: Performance agreement dates are detailed below and go through the end of the summer school program. Planning - TBD Summer School Dates: June 1-12, 2026 Summer School Times: 7:50-1:50 REPORTS TO: Summer School Coordinator SUMMER SCHOOL OVERVIEW: Adventure's Summer School Program will serve approximately 50 students in elementary grades 1, 2, and 3 with a focus on L1 literacy and L2 language instruction. Students will participate in academic instruction as well as some extracurricular fun each afternoon. Teachers will work half days to facilitate academic instruction, and the afternoon activities will be coordinated and facilitated by community partnerships through the 21st Century Grant program. Requirements

  • Must be a current Mapleton Public Schools employee.
  • A current (active) Colorado teaching license.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish preferred. (Ability to read, write, and speak both languages fluently)

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Summer School Curriculum Coordinator to establish timelines, schedules, procedures, and resources for the Adventure Summer School program to ensure all policies and procedures are established for an effective program per the grant.
  • Attend and participate in planning sessions and orientation with other summer school staff during April/May/June.
  • Plan and deliver targeted instruction in L1 and L2 using identified curricular resources.
  • Supervise groups of students during recess and meals.
  • Participate in identifying and grouping students for programming during April/May.
  • Conduct data analysis for program effectiveness.
