About The Position

Positions are for Summer 2026 POSITION: Teacher, GT Summer Camp (8 vacancies) LOCATION: District PAY RANGE: Paid through a combination of the following upon submission of claim(s) for payment: Extra Duty Pay for up to 12 hours of planning/preparation during the 24-25 school year, and Per Diem per the negotiated contract for each day of the 5-day GT Summer Camp. CALENDAR: Performance Agreement Dates: April 7 � June 8, 2026 Co-Planning Sessions: To be determined (April/May) GT Summer Camp Dates: June 1-5, 2026 Timetable: Teachers must be available from 7:30am to 3:30pm every day of the GT Summer Camp (no time conflicts permitted). REPORTS TO: Gifted Summer Camp Coordinator GIFTED SUMMER CAMP OVERVIEW: The GT Summer Camp is a one-week in-person enrichment program for identified gifted and talent pool students currently enrolled in Mapleton. Requirements

  • Must be a current Mapleton Public Schools employee.
  • Must have a current (active) Colorado teaching license.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in curriculum co-planning sessions during April/May 2026 (outside of regular school hours).
  • With co-teacher, plan a 5-day series of highly engaging interactive lessons that meet the differentiation needs of each participating student (kindergarten through 7th grade), including SEL and games activities, as well as events during the Celebrations of Learning on the final afternoon.
  • Prepare/set-up classroom spaces and inventory camp resources with co-teacher prior to the first day of the camp, so everyone is fully ready for the first morning with students.
  • Teach your assigned course in-person and in collaboration with your co-teacher during the camp from June 2-6, 2026.
  • Support the organization and supervision (as chaperone) of the Camp Field Trip.
  • Support the organization and supervision of the Celebrations of Learning on the final afternoon.
  • Supervise students to ensure a safe, secure and enriching experience for all.
  • Perform all duties and follow all expectations as assigned by the GT Summer Camp Coordinator.
  • Participate in the close-out/pack-up/clean-up of the camp.
