LICENSED VACANCY Positions are for Summer 2026 POSITION: GT Summer Camp Coordinator LOCATION: District PAY RANGE: Paid through a combination of the following upon submission of claim(s) for payment: Extra Duty Pay for up to 30 hours of planning/preparation during the 24-25 school year, and Per Diem per the negotiated contract for each day of the 5-day GT Summer Camp. CALENDAR: Performance Agreement Dates: March 3 � June 8, 2026 GT Summer Camp Dates: June 1-5, 2026 Timetable: Camp Coordinator must be available from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm every day of the GT Summer Camp (no time conflicts permitted) REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning GIFTED SUMMER CAMP OVERVIEW: The GT Summer Camp is a one-week in-person enrichment program for identified gifted and talent pool K-7 students currently enrolled in Mapleton. Must have a current (active) Colorado teaching license. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS: The Gifted Summer Camp Coordinator responsibilities include the following: Work collaboratively with the District Gifted Coordinator to establish timelines, schedules, procedures and resources for the summer camp to ensure all policies and procedures are in alignment and any necessary authorizations have been secured. Support hiring teachers (8) to co-teach in-person classes during summer camp. Facilitate curriculum co-planning sessions with teaching staff during April/May 2026 to include SEL and games activities, as well as planning for the Celebrations of Learning on the final afternoon. Coordinate a thematically linked field experience for the GT Summer Camp, including arranging for transportation and sack lunches (April 13th deadline). Coordinate the timely distribution of recruitment and registration materials (flyers, brochures, health questionnaire, etc.) to all identified K-7 gifted & talent pool students and their families. Coordinate all procedures and communication with families throughout the registration process, including the timely confirmation of enrollment. Collaborate with the Transportation Department to secure the necessary student transportation (final student list with names and addresses is due to Transportation by Monday, April 13th @ noon) Collaborate with Nutrition Services to secure breakfast and lunch, including sack lunches for the field trip experience. Collaborate with the Communications Department to publicize and document the GT Summer Camp Coordinate the distribution and collection of summer camp materials to all participants (e.g., Camp Invention materials, t-shirts, instructional materials, recycled materials for course projects, etc.) Facilitate ordering of additional supplies and materials with Teaching & Learning Services. Provide orientation for all camp staff members (e.g., expectations, curriculum training, co-planning, etc.). Supervise all aspects of the camp and its daily activities, including staff and students, to ensure a safe, secure and enriching experience for everyone. Coordinate the Celebrations of Learning on the final day of the camp. Supervise the organization and staffing needed to chaperone the field trip. Coordinate the close-out (e.g., clean-up, pack-up and delivery) of all summer camp materials to Teaching & Learning Services.
