Provide special education consultation and instruction to meet the needs of eligible students identified with autism spectrum disorder. This role involves participating in ARD/IEP meetings, completing required paperwork, developing and implementing instructional program goals, and demonstrating competence in behavior management principles. The teacher will administer assessments, communicate with parents and staff, collect data on student progress, and utilize research-based teaching methods to promote skill generalization and maintenance. Participation in continuing professional development is also required. This role may involve physically prompting students, which could require lifting and positioning, as well as other SHARS duties and personal care as identified in student IEPs.
