Provide special education consultation and instruction to meet the needs of eligible students identified with autism spectrum disorder. This role involves participating in ARD/IEP meetings, completing required paperwork, developing and implementing instructional programs, demonstrating competence in behavior management principles, administering assessments, communicating with parents and staff, collecting data on student progress, and utilizing research-based teaching methods. The teacher will also use teaching procedures that promote generalization and maintenance of skills, participate in professional development, and provide physical prompting which may include lifting and positioning students. Additional duties may include SHARS duties and providing personal care as identified in student IEPs.
