About The Position

Child Focus is seeking dedicated early childhood professionals to serve as a Seasonal/Part-Time Teacher in a Preschool aged classroom implementing a research-based curriculum. This is a seasonal position throughout the school year, following West Clermont School Districts calendar. The role involves maintaining the classroom environment, engaging with children to foster learning and growth, and building strong relationships with families. The teacher will implement the Creative Curriculum for Preschool with fidelity, utilize Conscious Discipline strategies, and collaborate with an assistant teacher to develop weekly lesson plans. Additionally, the role requires using strategies for behavior management and integrating IEPs or Behavior Action Plans for children with special needs. Child Focus is a Gold STAR rated Step Up to Quality Program.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree in Early Childhood is required.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience working in professional classroom setting for children ages 3-5.
  • Applicant must submit to a background check, physical and drug test upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience preferred.
  • Head Start or Early Head experience preferred.
  • Relate positively with young children and families.
  • Be passionate about providing quality care and learning opportunities as well as a safe environment for young children.
  • Work cooperatively with other team members.
  • Love children and wish to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of classroom and environment.
  • Engaging with children and fostering learning and growth.
  • Maintaining good relationships and communication with families.
  • Implement Creative Curriculum for Preschool with fidelity and utilize Conscious Discipline strategies.
  • Works with asst. teacher to develop and implement weekly lesson plans.
  • Use strategies for behavior management.
  • Integrate IEP’s or Behavior Action Plans for children with diagnosed or suspected special needs.
